CLOTHING:
-
If you think your arms look muscular or large, avoid sleeveless styles and tops with ¼ length sleeves.
-
Longer sleeves will make your arms look more slender.
-
Multiple straps do not look good in portraits and tucking the straps in does not look nice.
-
Bring strapless base layers if needed.
-
Avoid strips and prints, instead choose solid colors. Darker colors tend to slenderize while light colors seem to add weight.
-
If going to a park bring flats to walk in and carry any high heels you might want to wear.
MAKEUP:
-
Makeup should look natural. Make sure foundation is evenly applied and all makeup is well blended.
-
Don’t overdo eye makeup.
-
Mascara should be clean and contain no clumps.
-
Eye liner (if worn) should be very light.
-
Too much color above and below the eyes attracts attention to itself rather than attracting the viewer to the eyes.
-
Don't forget to pluck eyebrows. Unplucked eyebrows will show and draw attention away from the eyes.
-
Lips will look much better with lip stick or lip gloss (light tones).
-
If you can have your makeup professionally applied, especially if you are not used to applying make-up then we recommend Salon Indigo and have coupons for new customers.
NAILS:
-
Nails will show in some of your portraits (both finger nails and toe nails – for barefoot shots)
-
Chipped off polish will show.
-
Avoid real bright colors. Natural or basic tones will blend in best.
TAN & STRAP MARKS:
-
Tan lines will show up in portraits and will not be removable.
-
You may want to vary swim suit and tank tops to avoid shoulder tan lines.
